Go Figure Show 2010
This is a non-juried show open to all artists 18 years and
older who live within a 100-mile
radius of State College, PA. All work must have the human form as its dominant
theme
(clothed figures, nudes, and portraits are all acceptable). Work exhibited
previously at the
Art Alliance will not be accepted.
Eligible Work
Two- and three-dimensional works that have been completed
within the last three years are
eligible. 2-D work is not to exceed 48 inches in any direction. Poorly framed
work, unframed
work, clips, brackets, partial frames or wet work is unacceptable. Unframed
stretched canvases
that are strongly wired are acceptable.
Entry Process and Fee
Each artist can submit up to two pieces. The completed entry
form, along with the entry fee
(payable to Art Alliance) are due in the office by March 11,2010. Credit card
payments by
telephone are acceptable but a signed entry form must be mailed to the office.
Entry fees are nonrefundable.

Show Dates and Hours
The exhibit will open Friday, March 19 and run through
Sunday, March 28. Hours are
Wednesday through Sunday noon - 5pm except Saturdays are 10 am - 5 pm. The
exhibit will be closed Monday and Tuesday. We will need artists to sit with the
show, so
please indicate your availability on your registration form.
Opening Reception
The opening reception will be held the evening of Friday,
March 19 from 7 - 9 pm.
Prize winners will be announced at this time.
Prizes and Judging
Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded. In
addition, Honorable Mention
awards will be given to other notable works.
Our Juror
Laurencio Carlos Ruiz received his B.A. in Graphic Design
from the Metropolitan
Autonomous University (Mexico City, 1992) and a M.F.A. in Scenic Design
from Penn State
University in 2001. He is a freelance artist and designer and a professor
of Theatre and
Integrative Arts at Penn State University Altoona. As a visual and
performance artist,
puppeteer, designer, and photographer he is coming back into the
international eye with his
Action Figure Drama.
Sales and Conditions
Works may be for sale. The Art Alliance will charge a commission of 20% of the
selling
price for work sold at the show.
Receiving and Retrieving Work
Work may be delivered to the Art Alliance on March 15th
between 9am-noon or 7-9 pm.
Please have the included labels completed. All artwork must be retrieved on
Sunday,
March 28 between 5 - 6pm.
If you cannot comply with these dates and times, contact

The Art Alliance is not responsible for lost or damaged works of art.
We have no additional storage space suitable for artwork so please respect the
pick-up date.
