"Abstract Animals" by Veronica Silliman at Abe's Cafe in Belleville through mid-December.
"Patricia Howard: Migrations" will be at Juniata College Museum of Art through February 8, 2014 .
"Photographs and Paper Cuts by Harriet Rosenberg" are displayed at Elk Creek Cafe & Aleworks through December.
"Out and About: Nittany Valley Landscapes" featuring the work of Jeanne McKinney and Alice Kelsey will be at the State College Framing Company and Gallery in Hills Plaza during the months of November and December. The show includes pastel and oil landscapes painted predominantly plein air of our beautiful region with a selection of paintings of Mount Nittany featured.
During November and December Alice Kelsey's work will also be featured at "Small Works Prelude" at Lancaster Galleries (34 N. Water St., Lancaster) and "Shades of Pastel", a national exhibition of the Maryland Pastel Society at Delaplaine Visual Arts & Ed. Center (40 S. Carroll St., Frederick, MD)
Anni Matsick's watercolor paintings
of children are the subject of "Capturing Emotion" in the 9 to 5 feature spread
in State College Magazine's October issue.

Exhibit Space at Elk Creek Café & Aleworks
Sarah Berndt is handling installation of wall art at the Elk Creek Café and Aleworks
in Millheim, Pennsylvania. Sarah advises that this is an upscale venue,serving excellent
food and produced-on-premise beer. Over 75 feet of wall space is available for artwork
. Shows run four to six weeks, and sale of work is encouraged Interested artists should

Abe's Café, a new upscale restaurant on Route 655 in Belleville, is interested in a
rotating show of artists work. The shows are one month in length and include an opening

National Penn Bank
Greg Korn, Manager of the National Penn Bank on East College Avenue, State College,
has invited the Art Alliance to display rotating shows of artwork in his bank's lobby
. There is space for ten to twelve two-dimensional pieces. The lighting is good and
permission has been given to drive nails into the wall for hanging. Plans are to probably
feature two artists in each exhibit. If you are interested in having your work considered

Schlow Centre Region Library
Schlow Centre Region Library is looking for artists wishing to display their work in
the Schlow Library Gallery. Located on the first floor of the library, the Gallery enriches
the aesthetic environment of the Library and community while promoting local artists
with monthly or bi-monthly displays.
The application process includes submitting a form, 2-3 slides with dimensions or a
sample packet, and a one page description of the artist and his/her work. Upon
receipt, the Gallery Committee will review the application and respond as quickly as

Cafe Lemont, a new coffee shop, has opened at the intersection of Pike and Elmwood in
Lemont. They feature an artist each month in their gallery seating room. Jodi McWhirter and

This winter, Randy Doughty will teach throwing on the wheel classes for students 18 and over. Students at all levels are welcome. The classes will be held at the Potters Guild Studio on Pike St. In Lemont, on Saturdays from noon-3pm. The tuition for 6-week class is $60 for members of the Potters Guild or $120 for non-members. Fee includes glazing and firing fees and the use of throwing tools. In addition, students must pay $15 for clay at the beginning of the first class.
